Chapter 3 (current)

The Renegades are Battle Veterans that left their original faction. Most of them are hardcore fighters that fight merely for the thrill, and have no political motivation. They have no leader nor base of operations and can attack at any place. Areas of The Map won by the Gades become neutral.

About

Often viewed as idealistic or unpredictable, the Renegades members come mostly from the former La Revolution but also in part from the old Renegades and, as such, have a diverse userbase. They are leaderless and scattered, and as such they follow the existing attack rules for Renegades.

How to join them

New characters cannot immediately join the this faction. A character must have competed in at least four matches and have a good reason for joining the Renegades. Even then, requests to join may be denied based on numbers or for various other reasons. See details here.

Inactivity Boot

If any Renegade falls inactive for two rounds, they will be booted from the Renegades and will have to reapply. It's just that we can't have a bunch of people "hanging out" on this team and not participating. The one round everyone decides to start fighting again, if you accept any more people, it will drastically skew the overall numbers. This is also to inject new blood into the faction whenever possible.

Round Mechanics

The Renegades have no base or leader because in the In-Game sense, they are not an actual faction or group. Each Renegade is merely a lone combatant that wanders Arcadia for their own purposes and desires, fighting often without reason. Though they are not really aligned with each other, they do acknowledge that they are all alike in the sense of being factionless. This may or may not mean they'll help each other out.

As of Round 14, the play mechanics roughly follow the following guidelines:

  • Renegades can't/don't defend territories they win. They just kinda win them for the heck of it, and to disrupt other faction battle lines.
  • As to how they are deployed, Renegades work as stopgaps. So say Levidia has 11 and Arcadia has 15, they will all be on Levidia's side, with maybe one Arcadian team up or strike team.
  • If the teams are even, they either team up or fight someone teamed up and just fill in the rosters more. With even teams they just call out who to fight or choose where to go.
  • Specifics on Renegade Zones and Placement
  1. Renegades can pick either the zone they go to, or their opponent. One or the other.
  2. If the Renegade loses, the territory remains with its original owner.
  3. Renegades may attempt to take any square they choose, with the exception of the bases or as long as it's not adjacent to a zone a Gade made neutral in the last round.
  4. Two Gades cannot attack zones next to each other in the same round.
  5. Any of their other claimed spaces have a 3 turn countdown before they revert to their original alignment before being turned neutral.
  6. If a Gade wins a zone that's adjacent to a base, it reverts back to the original alignment after one round, instead of 3.
  7. Gades may fight each other.
    1. No matter who loses or wins, the zone stays with the original alignment.
    2. Fighting on a neutral zone doesn't reset the 3 round countdown.

History

First Introduced in Round 6, the Renegades originally formed when constant rivals SPI and Spectre-x, both fed up with being bossed around, left their respective sides and teamed up to kick everyone in Arcadia around. Over time, various other commanders rebelled from their factions and fought for their own ways. Team Munkus was joined by Ray briefly before the whole lot of them blasted off to another dimension. As the war dragged on, Astorite and Anthrax managed to rally the remaining Renegades together (Hazmatt, Nigel Fighter, and Wolfgang Rodriguez). After their one moment of unity in the final attack on La Revolution in which they destroyed almost every single flying contraption around LR's Base, they all went their separate ways. Anthrax and Astorite are still missing. Wolfgang and Nigel, after some debauched rock n roll antics in Arcadia City, found their way to the newly formed Feuersturm. And Hazmatt traveled back to his hometown, still looking for what he believes is right.

Mechanics of Play

The Renegades have no base or leader because in the In-Game sense, they are not an actual faction or group. Each Renegade is merely a lone combatant that wanders Arcadia for their own purposes and desires, fighting often without reason. Though they are not really aligned with each other, they do acknowledge that they are all alike in the sense of being factionless. This may or may not mean they'll help each other out.

As of Round 10, the play mechanics roughly follow the following guidelines:

  • Renegades can't/don't defend territories they win. They just kinda win them for the heck of it, and to disrupt other faction battle lines. Any zone they win control of turns neutral for the next round.
  • As to how they are deployed, Renegades work as stopgaps. So say LR has 11 and CE has 15, they will all be on LR side, with maybe one CE team up or strike team.
  • If the teams are even, they either team up or fight someone teamed up and just fill in the rosters more. With even teams they just call out who to fight and choose where to go.
  • As Renegades, they can choose anywhere on the map, except hqs obviously. That's really about it.

The original crew of Renegades were disbanded at the end of Chapter One so that more individuals could be worked into that ruleset.
