Please note that on the map, "always attackable" of course implies that the attacking team already owns a position right next to the square they would like to attack.

Starting in Round 27, we are pleased to announce that players can opt to sign up for "mini-battles" instead of regular battles.

Lack of time is one of the biggest obstacles people face when deciding whether or not to sign up for battles. Mini battles will be virtually identical in all ways to regular battles, but each artist will be limited to a maximum of 3 pages per cycle, allowing even those who are pressed for time to participate without feeling the pressure of a prolific opponent. Mini battles will not be designed to replace regular "full-length" battles, and regular battles will not have any new minimum or maximum number of pages imposed on them due to the introduction of mini battles. Mini battlers will only be matched against other mini battlers, and nobody can sign up to do both minis and regulars in the same round. Mini battles will have a small number of extra conditions:

Rules

1. If a mini battler on the attacking team and a regular battler on the same attacking team both wish to attack the same square and an agreement between the two players cannot be reached, the regular battler will by default be the one who gets to fight there.

2. Mini battlers cannot fight on any relic square, or on any square adjacent to an outside relic that has not been captured yet. They can never fight in the areas immediately surrounding the central relic square.

3. Mini battlers cannot fight on any square directly adjacent to a team end-base.

4. There cannot be more mini battlers than regular battlers in a round. If more minis sign up than regular battlers, those who signed up LAST will be cut.

5. If a mini battler breaks the "3 page maximum" rule, any extra pages will be deleted by a moderator.

6. Mini battlers must not use absurdly "long" pages to squeeze in extra panels. This will be evaluated subjectively. Just don't do it, please.

Round 27 will be the experimental debut round of mini battles. If they are received positively and function in a way that is helpful to the overall game mechanic, they will be used again in the future. If mini battles cause any unforeseen issues during Round 27, they will likely be revoked in future rounds. It is our hope that they will not only be received well, but will ultimately encourage user participation and possibly even bring back some old talent.
