Current Factions

The Republic of Arcadia

Relatively prosperous, tactically-experienced government. Politically liberal, fiscally conservative. Arcadia has a past riddled with questionable scientific experiments of its own, but those have largely been projects run by private, military outfits and/or companies. Although technologically inclined in many ways, furthering technology is not the government's primary concern. Liberal views when it comes to the use of magic.
  • Out-of-Character: Though as a country it is Lawful Neutral, Arcadia's members include all kinds of characters: ordinary humans but also vampires, cyborgs, wizards, scientists, war veterans and genetic freaks.

The Levidian Empire

  • In-Character: Monarchy. Wealthy, and currently peaceful empire with a proud history of conquest. Entire society is centered around academic pursuit and escalation of technology, and is culturally embodied by the Divium Stilus. LE essentially believes that everything has a rational explanation, even the supernatural, and hence the pressure on magical individuals to submit themselves to study. The government, while not run by the Divium Stilus itself, works closely with it and embodies many of its principles. There is not a great deal of unrest within the Empire itself, as even those it conquers are invited to enjoy the benefits of living with advanced technology, in prosperity.
  • Out-of-Character: Chaotic Neutral.

Renegades

  • In-Character: The Renegades are Battle Veterans that left their original faction. Most of them are hardcore fighters that fight merely for the thrill, and have no political motivation. They have no leader nor base of operations and can attack at any place.
  • Out-of-Character: Often viewed as idealistic or unpredictable, the Renegades members come mostly from the former La Revolution but also in part from the old Renegades and, as such, have a diverse userbase. Alignment: Chaotic neutral.
They follow the existing attack rules for Renegades.
  • Note: New characters cannot immediately join the this faction. A character must have competed in at least four matches and have a good reason for joining the Renegades. Even then, requests to join may be denied based on numbers or for various other reasons. See details here.

Former Factions

These teams no longer exist.

The Celestial Empire (Chapter 2)

  • In-Character: Their headquarters in Celestial Tower lie deep within Arcadia City and they are the current ruling authority in most of Arcadia. Their roots were in Celestial Genetics and Nanotechnology, a massive corporation that forcefully took over the government. While generally viewed as a dictatorship, the citizens accept TCE’s rule with little murmur.
After the former ruler's death, many of the former La Revolution have joined the Empire to build a better tomorrow. However, Arcadia City has fallen into chaos as Shilane and those loyal to Celestial's vision hold a tenuous grip on control. While Celestial is gone, his legacy will be a hard one to overcome, if at all, but with Shilane at the head of the Empire, perhaps they will walk a different path.
  • Out-of-Character: Formerly often viewed as the “evil” choice, now actually more neutral, TCE’s members include ordinary humans but also vampires, cyborgs, and genetic freaks. But there are many among their ranks that are simple seers, castaways, and scientists.

Feuersturm (Chapter 2)

(defeated in Round 23)

  • In-Character: In the mass of chaos consuming Arcadia, a new faction called Feuersturm has arisen in the heart of the nation. Rannesanque, located in his Crimson Tower in the desert, with various commanders from both La Revolution and The Celestial Empire, sows the seeds of anarchy and those following him set about to spread their own form of rulership on the land. While housing a sizable military force, they have, as of yet, turned to violence to further their goals. Will you throw your lot in with these upstarts and wander the lands of Arcadia, doing as you wish?
  • Out-of-Character: Viewed by many as the chaotic and evil ones, these military-driven soldiers, mercenaries, supernaturals, demons, and scientists believe in the survival of the fittest. But even they have a few innocent souls scattered among them.

LR-egades (Chapter 2)

  • In-Character: The troops, once loyal to the cause of the Rebellion have fled and now hide scattered around Arcadia. Some still cling desperately to the hopes and dreams that were placed into them by their various leaders. Other have given up the cause for good, either turning back to a “normal” life, or even tossing their services in with the other groups that now vie for power. Will you take up the banner of freedom and help La Revolution gather the scattered pieces of their faction and rally to create a New Arcadia?
  • Out-of-Character: Often viewed as idealistic or unpredictable, the LR-egades members come mostly from the former La Revolution but also in part from the old Renegades and, as such, have a diverse userbase.
They are leaderless and scattered, and as such they follow the existing attack rules for Renegades.

All LR characters participating in Round 13. Lines: AnTinwoodsman, colors: Five.

(defeated in Round 13)

  • In-Character: Their headquarters in the Floating Castle far on the western border of Arcadia and fight against the current leadership of Arcadia. Their roots are from those who rebelled directly against Celestial as he rose to power. While viewed as nothing more than terrorists to some, they are viewed as heroes to many of Arcadia’s citizens, especially those in the western reaches.
  • Out-of-Character: Often viewed as the “good” choice, LR’s members include former soldiers or employees of TCE, those driven to combat oppressive governments, those who wish to protect nature from TCE’s encroachment, and monster hunters. But there are many among their ranks who are violently bipolar, pirates, demons, and those of questionable origins.

The Celestial Empire (Chapter 1)

  • In-Character: Their headquarters in Celestial Tower deep in within Arcadia City and they are the current ruling authority in all of Arcadia. Their roots are in Celestial Genetics and Nanotechnology, a massive corporation that forcefully took over the government. While generally viewed as a dictatorship, the citizens accept TCE’s rule with little murmur.
  • Out-of-Character: Often viewed as the “evil” choice, TCE’s members include vampires, demons, cyborgs, and genetic freaks. But there are many among their ranks that are simple seers, castaways, and scientists.

Renegades (Chapter 1)

  • In-Character: A little known group of fighters who care little about party lines or moral standings who just savor combat and are using the war to soak it as much as possible. They have no headquarters and varied roots.
  • Out-of-Character: Often viewed as the “chaotic” choice, the Renegades members come from both sides of the conflict and, as such, have a diverse userbase. (Note: New characters cannot immediately join the Renegades. A character must have competed in at least four matches and have a good reason for joining the Renegades. Even then, requests to join may be denied based on numbers or for various other reasons.)
